Self-adhesive fiberglass mesh tape used to reinforce drywall joints and patch damaged wall and ceiling surfaces. The open weave is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive so the tape presses directly onto the board or patch area without a bedding coat of compound, which speeds up small repairs and holds the tape flat while joint compound is applied over it.

The fiberglass scrim resists tearing and does not absorb water from the compound, so it will not wrinkle or bubble the way paper tape can when it is over-wetted. Because the mesh is open, joint compound keys through the weave and locks the tape into the coat, distributing stress across the seam. It is typically finished with setting-type compound over the first coat, then feathered out with topping compound and sanded before priming.

Supplied as a continuous roll on a core for hand tearing or cutting to length.
