Corner bead is the metal angle that protects and straightens an outside drywall corner. It is fastened over the intersection of two sheets of gypsum board, then coated with joint compound so the nose of the bead sets the line the finisher works to.

The bead gives the corner a hard edge that resists knocks from traffic, furniture and equipment, and it holds the compound at a consistent thickness on both flanges. Perforated flanges let the compound key through to the board behind, locking the bead in place as it dries.

Supplied in standard 10 ft. lengths for full floor-to-ceiling runs on typical wall heights, and cut to length with aviation snips or a bead cutter.
