K-style aluminum gutter is the standard hung rain-carrying trough on residential and light commercial eaves. The formed profile has a flat back that fastens tight to the fascia and a decorative front face that reads like crown moulding from the ground, which is why it has largely replaced half-round on newer construction.

Sections are roll-formed from painted aluminum coil. Aluminum will not rust, takes a baked finish well, and is soft enough to cut with tin snips or a chop saw fitted with a fine-tooth blade, so runs can be sized and mitered on site. Sections join with slip connectors or lapped seams and are supported by spikes and ferrules, hidden hangers, or strap hangers depending on the fascia detail.

The white finish is the common trim colour and pairs with white end caps, outlet tubes, miters, and downspout to complete the run.
