Landing tread is the finished nosing that caps the edge of a landing or the top floor line of a staircase, where a stair tread would otherwise be missing. One long edge is machined with a rounded bullnose to match the nosing profile of the treads below, while the opposite edge is milled flat or rabbeted so it can be butted against, and covered by, the adjoining finish flooring.

This piece is solid oak, a dense closed-grain hardwood that machines cleanly, holds a crisp profile edge and takes stain or clear finish evenly, making it a standard choice where the tread is to be finished to match oak treads, risers and flooring. It is supplied in mill-run lengths for cutting to fit on site.

Profile #68 in the moulding series. As with all unfinished hardwood trim, allow the material to acclimate to the interior of the building before fitting and finishing.
