Landing tread is the finish moulding that closes out the floor edge at the top of a stair run or at an intermediate landing. It carries a bullnosed front edge that matches the profile of the stair treads below it, and a rabbeted or reduced back section that lets the flooring butt into it cleanly so the landing reads as one continuous surface.

This piece is milled from solid oak, a dense hardwood long used for stair parts because it resists denting underfoot, machines to a crisp nose and takes stain and clear finish evenly. It can be cut to length on site, mitred at returns and fastened down with construction adhesive and finish nails.

Left unfinished from the mill, it can be sanded and finished to match existing oak treads, risers and flooring.
