#34 1/2 in. x 3/4 in. x 8 ft. Screen Flat Moulding
Screen flat moulding is a narrow, flat-faced strip milled for covering the stapled or tacked edge of window and door screening on wood frames. Laid over the raw edge of the mesh, it hides the fasteners and the cut selvage while holding the screen cloth tight against the frame.
Pattern #34 is a plain rectangular profile with eased faces, thin enough to nail with brads or pins without splitting and small enough to disappear against a frame member. Because the profile is simply a flat batten, it also serves as lattice cap, seam batten, edge trim on shelving and cabinet work, and light stop or filler where a narrow flat piece is wanted.
Supplied in 8 ft. lengths and sold by the piece, it can be cut with a fine-tooth saw, mitered at corners or butted square, and finished with paint or stain after installation.
