Bending board is a flexible plywood panel built so the sheet can be curved by hand around a radius instead of being kerfed, steamed or laminated from thin strips. The veneers are laid up so that nearly all the grain runs in one direction, leaving the panel stiff along one axis and limp across the other, which lets it wrap a form or a framed curve without cracking.

It is a substrate rather than a finish material. Installers typically bend one layer onto curved framing, then glue and fasten a second layer over it so the two plies lock the shape, and finish with veneer, laminate, drywall compound or paint. The face is smooth enough to accept contact adhesive and plastic laminate directly.

Sold as a single panel and cut, fastened and glued with ordinary woodworking tools.
