Cold-formed steel angle used as a reinforcing, bracing and trim member in light-gauge framing assemblies. The two legs meet at a 90-degree bend, which gives the piece stiffness along its length and a ready surface for fastening on both planes.

In steel stud and track construction, angle of this kind is screw-attached with self-drilling framing screws and serves as a deflection or slip connection, a header and jamb reinforcement, a kicker or brace, or a ledger for terminating board. The web and legs accept the same fasteners used for studs and track, so no special tooling is needed beyond a screw gun and metal shears or a chop saw with a metal-cutting blade.
