Polyisocyanurate (ISO) board is a rigid foam insulation panel made from closed-cell polyiso foam bonded between facers. It is one of the most common rigid boards used in commercial roofing and in wall and ceiling assemblies where a high level of insulation is wanted from a relatively thin panel.

The closed-cell foam core resists moisture absorption, and the facers give the board enough stiffness to be handled, cut and fastened on site. Panels cut cleanly with a utility knife or a fine-tooth saw and are secured with plates and fasteners, adhesive, or mechanical furring depending on the assembly.

Because foam plastic insulation is combustible, polyiso is installed behind an approved thermal barrier or covering when used on the interior of a building, and joints are typically taped or sealed where the board also serves as part of the air control layer.
