Oak-faced veneer core plywood in a full sheet, built up from seven cross-laminated plies with a hardwood oak face and back veneer. The alternating grain direction of the plies gives the panel dimensional stability in both directions and resists the cupping and splitting associated with solid stock.

The oak face takes stain and clear finish in the same way as solid oak, so the panel is used where the surface will be seen rather than covered. A thicker panel of this construction holds screws in the face and edge and spans typical cabinet and shelf conditions without a substrate behind it.

Edges can be banded with solid oak or veneer tape where the ply lines would otherwise be exposed. The panel cuts, routs and sands with standard woodworking tooling; a fine-tooth blade and scoring cut limit face veneer tear-out.
