A concrete masonry unit intended for mortared wall construction. Units of this type are cast from a dry-mix concrete of portland cement and aggregate, then cured to produce a dense, dimensionally stable block that stacks in running bond with standard mortar joints.

Concrete block builds foundation walls, stem walls, retaining and partition walls, and piers. Courses can be reinforced vertically with rebar and grout where the wall design calls for it, and the exposed face takes parging, stucco, or a masonry veneer.

The gray cement finish is left as cast, so the block can be laid where it will be buried, furred out and finished, or left visible in service areas.
