Aluminum Door Sweep, Silver

A door sweep is a surface-mounted weatherseal that closes the gap between the bottom of a door and the threshold or sill. It consists of an aluminum carrier strip that fastens to the face of the door, holding a flexible insert that drags lightly across the threshold as the door swings.

The aluminum carrier is finished in silver and is intended to be cut to length with a hacksaw for doors narrower than the stock size. Slotted fastener holes allow the sweep to be raised or lowered after installation so the seal contacts the threshold evenly without binding against the floor.

Sealing the bottom of an exterior door reduces air infiltration, wind-driven water, dust and insect entry, and is one of the simplest retrofits for a door that whistles or lets daylight through at the floor.

Key Features

Aluminum carrier strip with a silver finish

Flexible insert seals the gap between the door bottom and the threshold

Surface-mounts to the face of the door, so no mortising or door removal is required

Slotted mounting holes permit vertical adjustment for even contact with the threshold

Aluminum extrusion can be cut to length with a hacksaw to fit narrower doors

Reduces air infiltration, dust, insects and wind-driven water at the door bottom

Supplied as a single piece for one door

Applications

Weathersealing exterior entry doors at the sill or threshold

Retrofitting doors that show daylight or draft at the floor line

Service, utility and basement doors in commercial buildings

Garage service doors and shed doors

Interior doors where sound, dust or light transfer between rooms is a concern

Replacing a worn or damaged sweep during door hardware maintenance

Product Details

Product Type: Door Sweep

Material: Aluminum carrier

Finish: Silver

Mounting: Surface-mounted to door face

Sold As: Each

Specifications

Dimensions

2" x 36"

Material

Aluminum

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1012/7743/4195/files/2-in-x-36-in-aluminum-door-sweep-silver-dss36.webp?v=1790734532
