PVC Bed Moulding

Bed moulding is a small sprung profile used to close the joint between a horizontal surface and a vertical one, most often under a soffit or crown assembly, at the top of a frieze board, or as a transition on cabinetry and mantels. This one is extruded from cellular PVC rather than milled from wood, so the profile is consistent from stick to stick and the material has no grain, knots or finger joints to telegraph through paint.

As a class, cellular PVC trim does not rot, absorb water or feed insects, which is why it is chosen for exterior cornice and rake details where wood trim historically fails first. It cuts and machines with standard carbide woodworking tooling, takes nails and screws, and can be bonded to itself with PVC trim cement for joints that behave as one piece. The material is white throughout, so it can be left unfinished or coated with a compatible exterior acrylic latex paint.

Key Features

Extruded cellular PVC construction — no rot, no moisture absorption, no insect damage

Sprung bed moulding profile for closing the angle between horizontal and vertical surfaces

Uniform white colour through the full thickness, with no grain, knots or seams

Cuts, routs and coped with standard carbide woodworking tools

Joints can be glued with PVC trim cement for seamless runs and mitres

Accepts compatible exterior acrylic latex paint, or may be left unpainted

Long single-piece length reduces the number of field joints in a run

Applications

Exterior cornice and crown assemblies under soffits and overhangs

Transition detail at the top of frieze boards and water tables

Rake and gable trim details on painted exteriors

Porch ceiling and beam trim in covered but damp locations

Interior crown build-ups, mantels and cabinet trim in kitchens and baths

Replacement of rotted wood bed moulding on existing cornice work

Product Details

Product Type: Bed moulding

Material: PVC

Thickness: 9/16 in.

Face Width: 1-5/8 in.

Length: 16 ft.

Colour: White

Sold By: Piece

Specifications

Dimensions

1-5/8" x 16'

Material

PVC

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1012/7743/4195/files/9-16-in-x-1-5-8-in-x-16-ft-pvc-bed-moulding-mld-pvc1.webp?v=1790259828
