Flip Down Door Holder, Aluminum

A flip down door holder, also called a kick down holder, is a surface-mounted device that keeps a swinging door propped open without a separate floor or wall stop. The body screws to the face of the door near the bottom rail, and a pivoting arm drops to the floor when nudged with a foot, where friction between the arm tip and the floor resists the door closing.

A spring keeps the arm folded up and out of the way when the holder is not in use, so the door swings freely and the arm does not drag on flooring or catch on a threshold. Releasing the door is the same one-foot motion in reverse, which makes it useful on doors that are held open and closed repeatedly through the day.

This unit is built on a die-cast zinc body with a dull aluminum finish, a common pairing for hold-open hardware because the cast body takes repeated kicking and the plated finish blends with aluminum storefront and residential entry trim.

Key Features

Foot-operated arm pivots down to the floor and holds the door open by friction, with no floor-mounted or wall-mounted stop required

Spring design holds the arm in the raised position when the holder is not in use

Arm locks up out of the way so the door can swing freely

Die-cast zinc body

Dull aluminum finish

Surface mounts to the face of the door with screws through the base plate, so no mortising or floor drilling is needed

Holds the door at any position the arm can reach, rather than at one fixed open angle like a floor stop

Sold individually

Applications

Residential entry, storm and screen doors that need to be held open for ventilation

Commercial and institutional doors propped open during moving, loading or cleaning

Shop, garage service and utility room doors

Doors over carpet, tile or uneven floors where a fixed floor stop cannot be set

Retrofitting hold-open capability to an existing door without altering the frame

Back-of-house and stockroom doors used repeatedly through the day

Product Details

Brand: Tuff Stuff Tools

Product Type: Flip down (kick down) door holder

Material: Die-cast zinc

Finish: Dull aluminum

Operation: Foot-operated, spring-returned arm

Mounting: Surface mounted to the door face with screws

Sold As: Each

Specifications

Size

5"

Brand

Tuff Stuff Tools

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1012/7743/4195/files/tuff-stuff-tools-5-in-flip-down-door-holder-aluminum-608781066521.webp?v=1790734494
https://arch-9365.myshopify.com/products/tuff-stuff-tools-5-in-flip-down-door-holder-aluminum-608781066521
