white-thinset-mortar-50-lb-bag-cw
White Thinset Mortar, 50 lb. Bag

Thinset mortar is a cement-based adhesive used to bond ceramic, porcelain, stone and mosaic tile to prepared substrates. It is supplied as a dry powder that is mixed with water (or a latex admix, where the product allows) to a stiff, trowelable consistency, then combed out with a notched trowel to form ridges that collapse under the tile and give full contact bedding.

This blend is white rather than grey. White mortar is the usual choice under marble, glass, translucent porcelain and other light or light-transmitting tile, where a grey body can shadow through the tile face or tint white grout at the joints.

The material is sold in a 50 lb. bag. Coverage depends on trowel notch size, tile format and substrate flatness, and mixed mortar has a limited working and open time, so batches should be sized to what can be set before the surface skins over.

Key Features

White cement-based thinset powder, mixed with liquid on site before use

White body avoids shadowing through marble, glass and translucent porcelain tile

Trowel-applied and combed with a notched trowel for full mortar contact behind the tile

Suits both floor and wall tile installations over properly prepared substrates

Supplied in a 50 lb. bag for mixing in batches as the work proceeds

Keeps grout joints free of the grey tint that can bleed from a standard mortar

Applications

Setting ceramic and porcelain floor and wall tile

Bedding marble, limestone and other light-coloured natural stone

Glass tile and mosaic sheet installations

Tile over cement backer board in bathrooms and kitchens

Backsplashes, tub surrounds and shower walls

Interior residential and light commercial tile work

Product Details

Type: Thinset mortar

Colour: White

Form: Dry powder, mixed with liquid on site

Base: Cement-based

Bag Weight: 50 lb.

Unit: Bag

Specifications

Finish

White

Weight

50 LBS

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1012/7743/4195/files/arch-placeholder-coming-soon_2dfa6021-97a2-45c8-a843-3def0e1a3e3a.webp?v=1790734529
