6-in-x-36-in-white-marble-saddle-msw636
6 in. x 36 in. White Marble Saddle

A marble saddle is a solid stone threshold set in a doorway or at the transition between two floor finishes. It bridges the gap where tile meets wood, carpet or an adjoining tile field, covers the exposed edges of both materials and takes the traffic wear that would otherwise fall on a cut tile edge.

This piece is cut from white marble with polished faces and eased edges, the usual pattern for bathroom and closet door openings. Saddles are bedded in thinset or mortar over the subfloor at the door jamb line and are commonly used at a shower or tub curb as well, where the stone forms the top of the dam and sheds water back toward the drain side.

Marble is a natural stone, so veining, tone and background colour vary from piece to piece. Material can be cut down on site with a wet saw and a continuous-rim diamond blade, and the cut end honed or polished to match.

Key Features

Solid natural white marble, not a veneer or composite

Single-piece threshold sized for standard door and curb openings

Polished face with eased edges for a finished transition

Covers exposed tile and flooring edges at changes of material or height

Sets in thinset or mortar directly over the subfloor or curb

Cuts and shapes with a wet saw and diamond blade

Natural veining and colour variation between pieces

Accepts penetrating sealer to reduce staining in wet locations

Applications

Bathroom and powder room door thresholds

Tops of tiled shower curbs and tub decks

Transitions between tile and hardwood or carpet

Closet and hallway door openings

Laundry and utility room floor transitions

Window sills and short shelf or niche caps

Product Details

Type: Saddle threshold

Material: Natural marble

Colour: White

Nominal Size: 6 in. x 36 in.

Sold By: Piece

Specifications

Dimensions

6" x 36"

Finish

White

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1012/7743/4195/files/6-in-x-36-in-white-marble-saddle-msw636.webp?v=1790259842
