Standard gypsum wallboard panel used to finish interior walls and ceilings. The core is set gypsum faced with paper on both sides, with long edges tapered so joints can be taped and filled flush before finishing.

Half-inch board is the common thickness for residential walls and ceilings over framing at standard spacing. The ten-foot length lets full-height walls in rooms with taller ceilings be hung horizontally or vertically with fewer butt joints to tape.

Panels cut cleanly by scoring the face paper with a utility knife and snapping the core, then cutting the back paper. They are fastened with drywall screws or nails and finished with joint compound and tape.
