2-1/4 in. x 2-3/8 in. x 10 ft. Oak Handrail, #6010
A solid red oak handrail milled to the #6010 profile, one of the standard stair-shop patterns used for interior stairways and balcony rails. The section is shaped with a rounded top and relieved sides so the hand can wrap the rail comfortably along its full run, with a flat or grooved underside that seats against brackets, rosettes or balusters depending on how the rail is installed.
Oak is the usual choice for finished stair rail because it is hard enough to resist knocks in a traffic area, holds fasteners well at splice and bracket points, and takes stain or clear finish evenly. Rails are typically mitered or joined with rail bolts at turns and landings, and can be cut down on site to suit rise and run.
Supplied unfinished so it can be sanded, stained or painted after installation to match treads, newels and trim.
