A solid oak saddle is the transition piece set in a door opening where two floor surfaces meet. It bridges the gap between rooms, covers the joint between finish flooring and subfloor, and gives the door a defined stopping point across the opening.

Saddles of this width are cut for standard interior door jambs and are typically face-nailed or bedded in adhesive over the subfloor, then finished to match adjacent trim. Oak takes stain and clear finish evenly and holds up to the concentrated foot traffic a doorway sees.

The piece ships unfinished so it can be sanded, stained, or sealed on site. Ends are square and can be trimmed to fit between jambs or scribed to the casing.
