Tile edge moulding is the finishing profile that closes the exposed edge of a tile field, covering the raw cut edge and the mortar bed where tile meets an unfinished surface, an outside corner, or a dissimilar material. The trim is set into the thinset at the same time as the tile, with its perforated or textured anchoring leg buried under the adjacent tile and the visible face sitting flush with or slightly proud of the tile surface.

This profile carries a matte nickel finish, a low-sheen metallic look that reads as a quiet grey border rather than a bright reflective line. Matte finishes hide fingerprints and minor surface scuffs better than polished ones, which makes them a common choice at counter splashes, shower curbs and other edges that get handled.

Profile height should be selected to match the combined thickness of the tile and its bond coat so the top of the trim finishes level with the tile face.
