The Hometai ABS access door is a two-part plastic access panel - a mounting frame and a fitted door - used to close off a service opening cut into drywall, plaster or a ceiling while leaving the concealed work behind it reachable. It gives a finished, square edge to an opening that would otherwise need to be patched and re-cut every time a valve, cleanout or junction box has to be serviced.

Molded ABS is the standard material for this class of panel because it will not rust, stain or corrode the way a painted steel panel can once it sees humidity, which is why plastic access doors are the usual choice behind tubs and showers, in laundry rooms and in below-grade mechanical spaces. The plastic is also non-conductive and light enough that a ceiling installation carries almost no added dead load.
