A surface-mounted door sweep consisting of an extruded aluminum retainer with a flexible seal blade along its lower edge. The retainer screws to the face of the door at the bottom rail, and the blade rides against the threshold or sill to close the gap under a closed door.

The assembly blocks drafts, wind-driven rain, dust, insects and light at the bottom of the opening, and it is one of the simplest weatherization repairs on an existing door. Mounting slots allow the sweep to be raised or lowered slightly during installation so the blade contacts the sill without dragging hard enough to bind the door.

The aluminum extrusion is finished in gold, keeping it consistent with brass and gold-tone door hardware and kick plates.
