Continuous foam sheathing breaks thermal bridging across studs, joists and slab edges, and the closed panel face also slows air movement when joints are taped or sealed. Rigid foam is not a finished surface; it is covered by cladding, drywall, concrete or another approved covering in the completed assembly.

Panels are light enough to handle single-handed on a wall, but they should be kept dry, flat and out of prolonged sunlight before installation, and protected from solvents and petroleum-based products that attack foam plastics.
