High Density Overlay (HDO) form panel is a plywood sheet faced on both sides with a thermosetting resin-impregnated fiber overlay bonded to the veneer under heat and pressure. The overlay gives the panel a hard, nearly non-porous surface that releases cleanly from cured concrete and leaves a smooth as-cast finish with little or no patching.

Panels of this type are built with exterior-grade adhesive and are intended for repeated use in wall, column and slab formwork. The dense face resists the abrasion of pouring and vibrating, resists absorption of water from the mix, and can be cleaned and re-oiled between pours, so a single panel typically serves many cycles before the overlay is worn through.

HDO is the higher-grade choice among overlaid form panels, used where the concrete will be left exposed and the form marks will be seen. Cut edges should be sealed with an edge sealer to keep moisture out of the core.
