Corner tabs or notched ends interlock with the jamb heads to square the assembly, and the wall opening depth dictates which throat size is used so the frame fits flush to both faces of the partition.

Heads are normally supplied in a shop primer that takes field paint once the frame is set, anchored and the joints are dressed.
