Vinyl stair treads are molded rubber-like floor coverings applied over the horizontal walking surface of a step. They are cemented down with tread adhesive or epoxy nosing cement and serve as the finished wear layer on wood, concrete or steel-pan stairs, taking the abrasion that would otherwise fall on the substrate.

This tread has a square nose, the profile used where the step has no overhanging bullnose or where a separate riser meets the tread flush at the front edge. The gray color is solid through the material, so surface scuffs and normal traffic wear do not expose a contrasting core.

Treads of this type are commonly specified in stairwells that see heavy foot traffic and need a resilient, low-maintenance surface that can be swept and damp-mopped alongside the rest of the floor.

Key Features

• Vinyl construction for a resilient, wear-resistant walking surface
• Square nose profile for steps without an overhanging bullnose
• Gray color runs through the body of the tread rather than sitting on the surface
• Installs over wood, concrete or metal-pan stair substrates with tread adhesive
• Trimmable with a utility knife or shears to suit stair width
• Sweeps and damp-mops clean with standard resilient-floor maintenance
• Sold individually so tread counts can be matched to the flight

Applications

• Interior stairwells in apartment and multifamily buildings
• Commercial and institutional egress stairs
• Basement and utility stairs over wood or concrete steps
• Refinishing worn or damaged existing stair treads
• Steel-pan stairs receiving a finished walking surface
