5 gal. Concrete Form Release Oil
Form release oil is a bond-breaking agent applied to the inside faces of concrete forms before the pour. It leaves a thin film between the form and the fresh concrete so the panels strip cleanly once the slab or wall has set, instead of tearing the surface or leaving cement paste welded to the form face.
Release oil is used on plywood and lumber forms, steel and aluminum panel systems, and foam or plastic form liners and inserts. Beyond making stripping easier, it protects the form material itself, extending the number of reuses a plywood panel or steel form gets before it has to be replaced, and it helps keep the cast face free of the pitting and pull-out that follows a form sticking.
Supplied in a bulk pail for brush, roller or low-pressure spray application. Coverage depends on the porosity of the form face, and forms should be coated thinly and evenly before steel is set and concrete is placed.
