5 in. x 36 in. Oak Saddle Threshold
An oak saddle is the flat hardwood threshold that sits in a door opening, bridging the gap between two finished floors and covering the joint where flooring materials meet. The wide profile spans the full thickness of a typical interior door jamb, giving the door a clean stop line and hiding the cut edges of tile, wood or carpet on either side.
Milled from solid oak, the blank arrives unfinished so it can be cut to the exact opening width and stained or sealed to match adjacent trim and flooring. Oak takes stain evenly and wears well underfoot, which is why it remains the standard species for saddles in residential doorways and passage openings.
Installation is straightforward: scribe and cut to length, dry-fit against the jambs and stops, then bed in construction adhesive or fasten with finish nails and fill the holes before finishing.
