Self-adhesive mesh drywall tape supplied on a roll, used to bridge joints, cracks and patched areas before coating with joint compound. The open mesh weave lets compound pass through and key into the substrate, locking the tape into the finished coat rather than sitting on top of it.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing sticks directly to gypsum board, plaster or an installed patch, so the tape can be positioned and coated in one pass without a bedding coat. The wide width suits larger repairs and blown-out areas where a standard 2 in. tape leaves too little coverage on either side of the damage.

Finish in the usual way: embed with a coat of setting-type or all-purpose compound, then apply fill and finish coats, feathering out past the mesh edges before sanding.
