Eastern white pine board in a #2 Supreme grade, surfaced four sides and sold as a single piece. Eastern white pine is a soft, light, straight-grained softwood that cuts and planes cleanly, holds fasteners without splitting near the ends, and takes paint, stain or clear finish with minimal preparation.

A #2 board grade permits sound, tight knots and other visual characteristics rather than the clear faces of select grades, which makes it the usual choice for painted trim, knotty-look interiors and general shop and utility work. Nominal thickness and width follow standard board conventions, so actual dressed dimensions are slightly under the nominal figures.

As an untreated interior softwood it is intended for dry, protected locations unless it is sealed and finished for exposure.
