White cement is a hydraulic cement manufactured from low-iron raw materials, which gives it a bright white colour instead of the grey of ordinary portland cement. It sets and hardens through the same hydration reaction and is used the same way, so it substitutes directly for grey cement wherever the finished colour of the mortar, grout or concrete matters.

Because the base cement is white rather than grey, it accepts mineral pigments cleanly and produces a truer, more predictable tint than pigmented grey cement. Mixed with white sand or light aggregate it yields a near-white mortar; with oxide colourants it produces consistent pastels and strong colours across a batch.

Supplied as a dry powder in a 50 lb bag, it is blended on site with sand, lime or aggregate depending on the application. Keep bags dry and off the slab before use, as the powder is hygroscopic and will lump or partially hydrate if it takes on moisture.
