A strike plate is the mating hardware for a lockset or latch, mortised or fastened into the door frame so the latch bolt and deadbolt have a hardened pocket to land in. On hollow metal frames the strike sits in the prepared cutout and transfers the force of the closing door, and of anyone pushing against it, into the jamb rather than into the latch itself.

This unit is stainless steel, which resists rust and surface staining better than plated steel and holds its appearance on entrances exposed to weather, wash-down or heavy hand traffic. It replaces strikes that have been bent, loosened or corroded, or fills in where a frame was prepped but never fitted out.

Strike plates are matched to the lockset by cutout size, screw spacing and lip projection, so the existing frame preparation and the latch it serves should be checked before fitting.
