Gator Maxx G2 is Alliance Gator's intelligent polymeric jointing sand for interlocking paver and slab installations. Calibrated sand is blended with polymers that bind when activated with water, filling the joints between units with a firm but slightly flexible material that resists washout from rain, irrigation and pressure washing, and that discourages weed growth and ant tunnelling in the joint.

The G2 generation is formulated so that the application is dust free and haze free, so no blower is needed and only one watering is required to activate the joint. It is rated for joints up to 4 in. in traditional sand-set applications and up to 2 in. in overlay work, and it is rain safe 15 minutes after activation in traditional applications and 24 hours after activation in overlays.

Installation follows normal polymeric sand practice: the paver surface and joints must be completely dry, the sand is swept in and consolidated, surplus is removed from the faces, and the joints are then watered per the manufacturer's sequence. This is the slate grey colour, the neutral tone usually chosen for grey and charcoal concrete pavers and natural stone.
