E-Z Wall Base Coat is a dry, cement-based stucco base coat that is mixed with water on site and applied as the scratch and brown coats of a conventional three-coat stucco assembly. It builds the structural body of the wall over metal lath and establishes the flat, plumb plane that the finish coat is later applied to.

As a portland cement based plaster, it cures by hydration rather than drying, so it needs to be kept damp during the early cure and allowed to set before the next coat goes on. It can be applied by hand with a hawk and trowel or pumped and sprayed, then rodded, darbied and floated to level.

The material is supplied as a factory-blended powder in a single bag, so mixing on the job is a matter of adding clean water to the specified consistency. It accepts standard cementitious and acrylic stucco finishes once cured.
