Solid red oak millwork stock run to pattern 6002 and supplied in full-length pieces. Red oak is the standard domestic hardwood for interior trim and moulding work: it is hard-wearing, machines cleanly, and its open, pronounced grain takes stain evenly, which is why it is specified where the trim is meant to be finished clear or stained rather than painted.

Because it is milled from solid hardwood rather than finger-jointed softwood or MDF, this stock can be coped, mitred, rabbeted or re-profiled on site and still hold a crisp edge. It ships unfinished, ready for sanding, sealing and a clear, stained or oiled finish.
