Roofing Base Sheet, 300 sq. ft. Roll
A base sheet is the first ply laid over a roof deck or insulation in a built-up or modified bitumen roof assembly. It separates the deck from the plies above, provides a uniform surface for hot asphalt, cold adhesive or torch application, and is typically mechanically fastened to wood or nailable decks before the interply and cap sheets go down.
Sold by the roll with 300 square feet of material per roll, which allows for the side and end laps a base sheet ply requires once installed. The asphalt-saturated, reinforced construction resists tearing during unrolling and fastening and stays dimensionally stable while the remaining plies are installed.
