Landing tread, sometimes called nosing or landing nosing, finishes the exposed edge of a floor or landing where a stairway opens onto it. The front edge carries a bullnose profile that matches the nosing on the stair treads below, so the transition from stair to landing reads as one continuous line. The back edge is milled with a rabbeted shoulder that laps over the adjoining finish floor, hiding the cut ends of hardwood strip or engineered flooring at the stairwell opening.

This piece is milled from solid oak, a dense hardwood with open grain that takes stain evenly and holds up to the concentrated foot traffic at the head of a stairway. It is supplied unfinished, so it can be sanded, stained and coated on site to match existing treads, handrail and flooring.

Profile #68 is a standard moulding pattern number; ordering by pattern keeps repair and addition work consistent with tread and nosing already installed.
