This post is milled from solid oak, a dense closed-grain hardwood that machines cleanly, holds a crisp profile, and accepts stain and clear finish in the same way as oak treads, rail, and balusters. It is supplied unfinished so it can be cut to the required height and finished to match the rest of the stair.

G4101 is the pattern number for the post profile, which allows it to be matched to handrail, balusters, and fittings from the same dimensional stair-part series.
