Liquid-applied waterproofing under tile and stone depends on reinforcement at the places an assembly actually moves: inside corners, coves, floor-to-wall transitions and the joints around a drain. This roll of LATICRETE Waterproofing/Anti-Fracture Fabric is the narrow-width reinforcement strip used for exactly that work. It is a thin, flexible non-woven polyester fabric that is embedded into the wet liquid rubber membrane and then top-coated, so the fabric and the coating cure together as one seamless layer.

The narrow roll format is sized for banding rather than for field coverage. It is unrolled along a cove or seam, pressed into a liberal first coat of membrane while that coat is still wet, and saturated with a second coat so no dry fibers remain. LATICRETE specifies the fabric as a required component with several of its systems, including 9235 Waterproofing Membrane, and as added reinforcement with others such as HYDRO BAN and 9237.

As a component rather than a finished membrane, the fabric carries no waterproofing performance on its own; the rating, cure schedule and coverage all come from the liquid membrane it is installed with. Consult the data sheet for the specific membrane being used for suitable substrates and cure times before tile is set.
