1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. Oak Plywood
Oak-faced plywood is a hardwood-veneered panel built from cross-laminated plies with a red oak face veneer, used where the finished surface will be stained, clear-coated or left visible. The cross-banded construction keeps the panel dimensionally stable and resists the splitting and cupping common to solid stock of the same thickness.
At a quarter inch, the panel is light enough to bend into gentle curves and thin enough for cabinet backs, drawer bottoms and overlay work, while still taking fasteners and adhesive along its edges. The face is sanded and ready for finishing; the open grain of oak takes stain readily and shows a pronounced figure once sealed.
This is an interior panel. The veneers and glue line are not intended for weather exposure or sustained moisture, so it belongs in conditioned space or behind a finished assembly.
