Primed pine board is a nominal one-by trim stock supplied with a factory-applied primer coat, ready for finish painting once cut and installed. The primer seals the face and edges so the board takes topcoats evenly and needs less on-site preparation than bare softwood.

Pine works easily with standard carpentry tools, holds fasteners well and accepts nails or screws without pre-drilling in most cases. As a wide one-by board it is used where a flat, paintable trim face is wanted rather than a profiled moulding.

Cut ends and any exposed edges should be primed on site before finishing, and the board is intended for painted work rather than stain or clear finish.
