13/16 in. x 3-1/2 in. x 16 ft. Primed Casing
Primed casing is finish trim used to case out door and window openings, covering the gap between the jamb and the surrounding wall finish. The factory primer seals the face and edges so the piece is ready for filling, sanding and a finish coat once it is installed.
Casing stock is milled with a profiled face and a relieved or hollow back that lets it sit flat against slightly irregular framing and drywall. It is fastened through the jamb edge and into the trimmer studs, then mitered or coped at the head corners.
Long lengths allow full-height door legs and head casings to be cut from a single piece, keeping joints out of the run.
