Landing tread is the milled oak moulding that finishes the floor edge at the top of a staircase or at an intermediate landing. One edge is shaped into a rounded nosing that projects past the riser below and matches the profile of the stair treads, while the opposite edge is milled flat or tongued so it butts cleanly into the adjoining hardwood floor or subfloor.

Milled from solid oak, it takes stain and clear finish the same way oak treads and risers do, so the nosing, treads and flooring can be finished together for a continuous appearance. The long run length allows a wide landing or an open floor edge to be finished in one piece with no end joints.

Supplied unfinished so it can be cut, fitted and sanded in place before staining or coating.
