Mill finish aluminum is the raw, uncoated mill surface, so the track is left silver-grey and can be installed as-is in utility openings or painted to match trim and jambs. The extrusion is soft enough to cut with a fine-tooth hacksaw or miter saw and takes screw fastening directly into a head jamb, sill, or floor.
