32 in. x 80 in. Metal Door, Reverse Swing
A steel door sized for a standard residential rough opening, supplied in the reverse hand so the leaf swings outward from the room rather than inward. Handing is fixed once the unit is made, so the swing direction and hinge side have to be confirmed against the opening before installation.
Steel doors are chosen where durability and security matter more than appearance: the face sheets resist dents, kicks and warping far better than a wood slab, and they hold paint well once primed. Typical uses are service entries, basements, garages and utility rooms, and the same construction is common on back-of-house openings in light commercial work.
Reverse-swing openings are often used where an inward swing would foul a stair, a landing or fixed equipment, or where the door has to clear an interior that cannot give up floor space.
Key Features
- Steel construction for resistance to denting, racking and warping in service
- Reverse hand — the door swings out of the room, away from the interior side
- Sized to suit a common residential door opening
- Steel faces accept standard paint finishes after priming
- Prepared for conventional lockset and hinge hardware used on steel doors
- Supplied as a single door, ordered by hand rather than field-reversible
Applications
- Service and rear entry doors on houses and small buildings
- Basement and cellar entries
- Garage-to-interior and utility room openings
- Mechanical, boiler and storage room doors
- Back-of-house openings in light commercial spaces
- Openings where an inward swing would obstruct stairs, landings or equipment
