Vinyl stair treads are surface-applied wear covers that fit over existing stair treads to provide a durable, slip-resistant walking surface. The round-nose profile wraps the leading edge of the step, covering the nosing so the tread and nosing are protected by a single piece of material.

Homogeneous vinyl wears evenly through its thickness and resists scuffing from foot traffic, which makes it a common choice for service stairs, basements and multi-family common areas where painted wood or bare concrete would wear quickly. Treads are typically set in tread adhesive or epoxy nosing cement over a clean, sound substrate and rolled down to seat the nosing.

The black finish hides dirt and marking in high-traffic runs and pairs with matching vinyl or rubber stringer and riser pieces for a finished stair assembly.
