5 in. x 36 in. White Marble Saddle
A marble saddle is the transition piece set in a doorway where two floor finishes meet, most often between a tiled bathroom floor and the hallway outside it. The stone spans the width of the opening, covers the cut edges of both floors and gives the door a clean stopping point.
This saddle is cut from white marble with a polished face and eased long edges, so the top surface sits proud of the surrounding tile and sheds water back toward the wet side. It is bedded in thinset or mortar like any other stone unit and can be trimmed to the exact door width with a wet saw and a continuous-rim diamond blade.
Marble is a natural material, so veining, background tone and the amount of grey movement vary from piece to piece. Lay pieces out before setting them when several openings are being done in the same run.
