Self-leveling cement is a dry, cement-based powder that is mixed with water to a fluid consistency and poured or pumped over an existing floor, where it flows out under its own weight to find its own level. It is used to correct dips, humps, trowel ridges and slope in a substrate before tile, resilient sheet, LVT, carpet, wood or coatings go down, since most finished flooring depends on a flat base to bond and wear properly.

The NXT line from LATICRETE is a family of cement-based, pump-friendly self-leveling underlayments for interior floor substrates, supplied as a dry mix in bags and mixed on site with a paddle mixer or barrel pump. Poured material sets to a flat, smooth and hard surface that accepts the finished flooring directly.

Preparation matters more than the pour: the substrate is cleaned and sound, then treated with a compatible primer to control porosity and prevent pinholing, perimeter and movement joints are respected, and the mix is placed continuously within its working time so successive batches knit together without a cold joint.
